Bregenzerwald, Austria Summer 2008
I think it's important to introduce the concept of 'SPA-ing' very early in life. Especially for girls, because if everyone had perfectly manicured toes, well, surely the world would be a better place!
Our beautiful bathing beauties-in the pool twice a day!

My Brother Glen at Half Ironman in Peterborough
This is Glen's first Half Ironman and he was hoping to finish in less than 6 hours. His time was 5:49:09. AWESOME!!!
I finally caught up with Glen this morning by phone, to hear all the details of his first of many half ironmans to come. He said that the swim was a mass start, and he was lucky to have only been elbowed in the face once this time!
Typically he transitions fast, and has a fast ride, before finishing with the run. He did have some knee problems during the cycling, but luckily it wasn't a concern during the run.

His biggest challenge he said was to get enough nutrition during the race, without cramping, dehydrating or hurling. Distance Racing is an elite sport for a reason. Not for the faint of heart!!

Half Ironman is 2 km swim, 90 km bike, 21 km run.

Summer Vacation
Doug was off to the US for business, so I thought it would be a good idea to take the girls on a road trip through the south of France, to stay with my cousin Pat in Aix en Provence. The words 'roadtrip' and 'south fo France' sound really good in your head. They even look good on paper. The reality is something completely different when your fellow trippers are both under the age of five and lean heavily into the car sickness category on mountain passes. Can't say as I blame them.
